ABOUT
us

WHO WE

are

Foundation is made up of ordinary people from the community,

just like you, committed to helping people find and follow Jesus.

WHAT'S OUR
mission

Here at Foundation, we believe our mission is to:

Reach the Lost, Disciple the Found, and grow in our ability to

live and love like Jesus.

WHAT WE
value

1. Scripture- We are a Bible-centered people, shaped by the Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

2. Prayer- We depend on God through a lifestyle of prayer.

Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving."

3. Love- We love God with our whole hearts and love our neighbors as ourselves.

Matthew 22:37-39 "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

4. Discipleship- We are committed to growing as followers of Jesus and helping others do the same.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

5. Missions- We exist to reach people locally and globally with the Gospel.

Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

In short, Scripture shapes us. Prayer sustains us. Love defines us. Discipleship matures us. Mission sends us.

WHAT WE
believe

ABOUT GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and sovereign over all creation. He has eternally existed as one God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, yet there is one God.

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the eternally begotten Son of God, truly God and truly man, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and lived a completely sinless life. Jesus willingly gave Himself on the cross as the perfect and sufficient sacrifice for our sins, dying in our place and accomplishing our redemption. On the third day, He bodily rose from the dead, victorious over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven, where He reigns at the right hand of the Father and intercedes for His people. Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to earth in glory as King of kings and Lord of lords.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. He is present and active in the world, convicting people of sin and revealing their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer from the moment of salvation, sealing us as God’s own and assuring us of our inheritance in Christ. He empowers believers to live for Christ, illuminates spiritual truth, produces spiritual fruit, gives spiritual gifts, and guides us in becoming more like Jesus. As followers of Christ, we are called to continually yield to the Holy Spirit, walk by the Spirit, and live under His direction and power.

John 14:16-17; 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; 12:4-7; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Galatians 5:16, 22-25; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18

ABOUT THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active and available to the Church today. From the moment a person places their faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers the believer, giving spiritual gifts for the purpose of serving others, building up the body of Christ, and advancing the mission of the Church.

We believe the Holy Spirit sovereignly determines how spiritual gifts are distributed. Therefore, not every believer possesses every gift, nor does every believer possess the same gifts. Each believer is called to faithfully use the gifts God has given them for the common good and according to the teaching and order established in Scripture.

We believe all the gifts of the Spirit should be exercised in a manner consistent with Scripture, characterized by love, humility, order, and the building up of the Church. No single spiritual gift, including speaking in tongues, is required as evidence of salvation, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, or spiritual maturity. Our salvation is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and the evidence of a life transformed by the Spirit is not limited to the manifestation of any particular spiritual gift.

ABOUT ETERNITY

God created us to exist eternally. Because of sin, every person is separated from God and in need of salvation. Through Jesus Christ, those who receive God’s gift of forgiveness and salvation are reconciled to Him and receive eternal life. Those who reject Christ remain under God’s judgment and will experience eternal punishment in Hell. Those who belong to Christ will be raised to eternal life and will dwell forever in the presence of God in His new creation.

ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace and cannot be earned through self-improvement, religious effort, or good works. Because of our sin, we are unable to save ourselves. Jesus Christ accomplished salvation for us through His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. We receive God’s forgiveness and the gift of eternal life by repenting of our sin and placing our faith in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Savior. The moment we trust in Christ, we are forgiven, justified before God, and given eternal life.

ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is God’s revelation of Himself and His truth to humanity and is the final authority for what we believe and how we live. Because Scripture is inspired by God, it is true and without error in all that it affirms. The Bible is trustworthy, authoritative, and sufficient to teach us God’s truth and equip us to faithfully follow Jesus Christ.

Psalm 12:6; 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe there is one true Church, the body of Christ, comprised of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Every believer is a part of the universal Church and is called to actively participate in the life and mission of a local church. Scripture calls believers to gather regularly for worship, prayer, the teaching of God’s Word, fellowship, and mutual encouragement. Within the Church, believers are equipped to grow as disciples, use their God-given gifts to serve one another, live in unity, and carry out Christ’s mission of making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel to the world.

Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 1:10; 12:12-27; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:24-25

ABOUT SIN

We believe sin is any thought, attitude, action, or failure to act that violates God's holy character and His revealed will. Sin entered the world through humanity's disobedience to God, and as a result, all people are born with a sinful nature and are inclined toward sin. Every person has sinned and fallen short of God's glory, leaving humanity spiritually separated from God and unable to restore that relationship through personal effort, religious works, or moral goodness.

We believe the consequence of sin is death and eternal separation from God. However, because of His great love and mercy, God provided the only means of forgiveness and reconciliation through the sacrificial death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through repentance and faith in Him, we are forgiven, justified, and set free from the condemnation of sin. Although believers continue to struggle against sin, we are no longer enslaved to its power and are called to pursue holiness through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 3:1-19; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; 5:12; 6:6-7, 23; 8:1-4; Ephesians 2:1-5; 1 John 1:8-9

ABOUT MANKIND

We believe every person is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity, value, and intrinsic worth. Humanity was uniquely created to know God, reflect His character, and represent Him within His creation. However, through sin, humanity has fallen from God’s intended design. Every person is sinful by nature and by choice and, apart from God’s grace, stands separated from Him and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; 5:12

ABOUT MARRIAGE

We believe God created humanity as male and female, each equally bearing His image and possessing inherent dignity and intrinsic worth. From the beginning, God established marriage as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman, intended to be a faithful and lifelong union. In marriage, a husband and wife are joined by God as one flesh and are called to love, faithfulness, mutual commitment, and devotion to one another.

Marriage was established by God for companionship, the good of the family, the raising and nurturing of children when God grants them, and as a reflection of the covenant relationship between Christ and His Church. Therefore, we believe sexual intimacy is God’s gift to be expressed within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman.

Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5; Ephesians 5:22-33; Hebrews 13:4

ABOUT GENDER & SEXUALITY

We believe God created humanity in His image as male and female, and that our biological sex is a good and purposeful part of God’s design for each person. Male and female are equal in dignity, value, and worth before God while remaining distinct expressions of His created order. Therefore, we believe a person’s gender is rooted in and corresponds with his or her biological sex.

We believe God created sexual intimacy as a good gift to be expressed exclusively within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Therefore, all sexual activity outside of biblical marriage is outside of God’s design for human sexuality. This includes adultery, fornication, homosexual sexual activity, pornography, and other forms of sexual immorality.

At the same time, we believe every person is created in the image of God and should be treated with dignity, compassion, respect, and love. Like every area of our lives, our sexuality and identity are to be surrendered to the lordship of Jesus Christ. The Gospel calls all people to repentance and faith and offers forgiveness, grace, transformation, and new life through Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 1:24-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 18-20; Ephesians 4:17-24; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

ABOUT THIS ORDINANCES

We believe Jesus Christ established Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances to be observed by His Church. Baptism is for those who have repented of sin and placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We practice baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith, identifying the believer with Jesus Christ and His body, the Church. Baptism outwardly represents our identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection and our commitment to walk in newness of life.

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice for us, as a proclamation of His death, an expression of our communion with Christ and one another, and in anticipation of His return. All who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are invited to participate.

Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38-41; 8:36-39; 16:25-34; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-26; 12:13

ABOUT GIVING

We believe generosity is an act of worship and an important part of following Jesus. Everything we have ultimately belongs to God, and we are called to faithfully steward what He has entrusted to us. We give not out of guilt, reluctance, or compulsion, but out of gratitude for the grace and generosity God has shown us through Jesus Christ. God held nothing back in giving His Son for us, and the new life we have received by grace should compel us to reflect His generosity toward others and His Kingdom.

We encourage every believer to give something, give consistently, and grow toward giving 10%, not to earn God’s favor, but as a practical step of faith, obedience, generosity, and spiritual growth. As God transforms our hearts, we want to move beyond asking, “How much am I required to give?” and instead ask, “How can I honor God with what He has entrusted to me?”

We believe giving to the local church supports the ministry and mission God has entrusted to His Church, providing resources to make disciples, care for people, serve our community, proclaim the Gospel, and advance God’s Kingdom locally and around the world.
